Donation recipient spotlight: Gateway Pet Guardians

At Pet Junkie we are passionate about our pets and believe all adoptable companion animals deserve to be spoiled in a loving forever home. Part of our mission is to give back to our community of pet lovers by donating a portion of sales to nonprofit organizations committed to improving the lives of animals.

We are pleased to announce our very first beneficiary is Gateway Pet Guardians of St. Louis, MO. They are a 501(c)3 nonprofit animal shelter who rescues stray animals from the streets of East St. Louis and surrounding areas. Their mission is "to end homelessness for animals in the Metro East through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, community outreach and education."

We love Gateway Pet Guardians because they are 98.5% run by dedicated volunteers who don't just stop at rescuing homeless animals. They also work tirelessly in the community to educate responsible pet ownership and provide free pet care services to qualifying residents. Their aim is "to provide the resources necessary to care for pets, so residents can better care for both themselves and their animals."

During the second quarter of 2017, when you shop at petjunkie.com, you can feel good that your purchase is helping the lives of companion animals and pet owners in the St. Louis region.

Each quarter we will select a different nonprofit animal welfare organization to be the beneficiary of our donation special. If you'd like to recommend a group to be considered for future donations, please contact us.
